Veterans day weekend the puppies turned 8 weeks old. We took them on the biggest adventure they’ve had yet. Everybody shipped out to Minneapolis Minnesota to meet my dear friend Megan. The babies took the 6 hour car ride in stride. Whining only lasted about 10 minutes, and then they settled down to sleep for the rest of the way. The only exciting thing to happen was two pee accidents. I was very proud of how they behaved for their first road trip. Being comfortable with travel is very important to me as we like to take our dogs everywhere.
On Saturday the puppies experienced their first walk down a city sidewalk, which also happened to be their first time on leash. Everyone did very well and made it once around the block. I was pleasantly surprised by how easily they took in moving cars, joggers, other dogs, and leaf blowers. We don’t have any of that at our homestead in North Dakota.
That evening we headed to Fusion Pet Retreat in Minnetonka to participate in some enrichment activities and meet new people. The puppies loved it and I don’t think I’ve ever seen them so tired. You will notice that some of the puppies names are starting to change. This is because they have buyers, and their new owners are starting to name them. All of their new names have been perfectly fitting, and this whole naming process has been kind of fun for me. They are all confident and friendly. Never afraid to try new things. I am so very happy with how these puppies are turning out. They’re beautiful and bomb proof. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them.
